Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Senior Systems Engineer for an opportunity located in Ashburn, Virginia. Position Summary: This position provides detailed system designs and oversees integration with hardware and software development. This position interfaces with customers as well as develops new products and features for existing products serving GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and IP based commercial telecommunication networks. Essential Job Functions: • Preparing detailed design documents and inter-operability test plans for systems of new products and features. (Primary focus is on control and user plane location products and product features.) • Ensuring team coordination within and outside engineering development team. • Communcating with customer regularly and providing issue resolution. Education and Experience: Education/Training: BSEE or equivalent required. MSEE or equivalent preferred. Experience: • 5+ years work experience in an engineering design environment. • Direct hardware (RF and digital preferred) and software design and implementation experience. • Direct experience with new product design. • Knowledge of SS7 protocols (MTP, M3UA, SCCP, TCAP). • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and concepts (routing, VLAN, VRRP, NAT). • Sound understanding of telecommunications. • Knowledge of GSM/1xRTT/UMTS/WiMax/LTE systems including air interfaces, core equipment, and interfaces. • Experience with UNIX. • Experience leading development projects from a systems level. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Some short duration travel may be required.
