Job Description	NSTAR Global Services Job Description Check out our website at www.nstarsearch.com, and browse for more open jobs at http://www.nstarsearch.com/jobs.htm Job Title: Field Service Engineer –Customer Support Job Type: Permanent Placement Reports To (Title): Engineering Manager Compensation Range: $47,000-$51,000 Other Compensation: incentive compensation plan, a profit-sharing plan, and a 401(K) plan with automatic company contributions Position Location: Portland, OR # Positions open: 3 Hours of Work: rotating/compressed shift coverage, night shift coverage, paid off-hour work and on-call duties % Travel: 60-80% Summary: A Field Service Engineer provides onsite customer support through the performance of installations, upgrades, repairs and preventive maintenance of complex lithography equipment and systems. An FSE troubleshoots problems either to solve problems directly or refer more serious machine problems to advanced technical support resources. You will also serve as the customer interface and instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the systems. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: 1. Serve as a customer liaison/interface for answering questions and providing updates. 2. Follow established procedures to perform installations, upgrades, and maintenance on company products. 3. Troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, optical, and process related problems to ensure equipment performs to specification. 4. Research and use technical resources/databases to successfully maintain equipment. 5. Other duties as required. 6. Must be able to troubleshoot the system in a logical order to solve problems and effectively communicate problems to Technical Support. 7. This position will require travel (>50%), rotating/compressed shift coverage, night shift coverage, paid off-hour work and on-call duties. Qualifications/Background Required: 1. Bachelor degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology 2. Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology plus 4 years experience troubleshooting electronics systems or equivalent military training/experience 3. Japanese language proficiency is a plus Physical Requirements: 1. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. 2. Must be able to bend, crawl, and work in cramped spaces 3. Must be able stand for long periods of time Other Desired Qualifications: 1. Knowledge of high power, high vacuum systems 2. Knowledge of optics and fine component calibration 3. Strong troubleshooting capabilities, analytical method to solving technical problems. Education/Experience: 1.
